An architect for international clients on the Costa Blanca
Anyone building on the Costa Blanca runs into a framework of rules, authorities and professional roles that is put together differently from the one at home. For many projects the visado of the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos must be in place before building can start, on many projects a technical architect works alongside the architect, and each town hall applies its own planning regulations.
Kantelberg Arquitectos has worked within that framework since 2007, from Jávea. Here is what that means for a client.
We know the municipal procedure
Our experience in Jávea, Moraira and Benissa means we know the local procedure: which departments are involved, which documents are required, and the exact order of each step. That lets us anticipate difficulties from the outset and prevents unnecessary back-and-forth.
Working together on the construction stage
For the execution of projects we have worked for years with the same engineering firms and technical architects, each in their own role and responsibility. That continuity makes coordination during the work easier, and it is clear from the start who is responsible for what.
From design to architectural supervision
We handle the design and the technical development, and assist with the permit application. During construction we take on the architectural supervision. On projects where Spanish regulations also involve a technical architect, the technical coordination takes place together with the professionals concerned. The tasks and responsibilities of the architect and the technical architect are set down separately. The builder brings their experience in carrying out the work, and we coordinate with them.
Experience in two building cultures
Ben Kantelberg worked in the Netherlands between 1992 and 2005 for various architectural, engineering and construction firms. Since 2007 he has worked in Spain, where his own studio develops the projects. Because we know the regulations, the building systems and the local way of working from the inside, we can explain where they differ from what you are used to at home: from materials and techniques through to administrative procedures and the demands made on the project.
Registered architect
Registered with the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de la Comunidad Valenciana (COACV/CTAA), registration number CTAA-COACV 10934, since 2007. For projects that require a visado, the Colegio CTAA-COACV issues it.
